Thursdays THRILLING shoe finds!

Well it has been a while since my last post. I am flabbergasted by all of the thoughts coming to mind to write about; review new shoes, review some older shoes, talk about my shoe shopping adventures, heeling adventure, etc… Just too much to figure out.

I will talk a little bit about my shopping today. I am having some siding replaced (Storm damage) and had a need to go to a home supply store for some lumber. I took the opportunity to go to a store next to a DSW. As fate would have it, there is a DSW by 2 different home supply stores. I recently visited one yesterday, so I figured I should check up on the other store. I will mention, this weekend I will take a few minutes to go to another DSW as well… πŸ˜‰ I found several full priced Items I liked, none of them in my size, a few to consider in my size, and about six pair in the clearance section. I decided to take advantage of obtaining another Jessica Simpson style and two new designers I have not tried before. Now, my method for that is one of two ways, I quick try them on in the store to see if they fit well, or I purchase them, try them at home and decide if the fit is acceptable. As I was alone, I was also not feeling to brave, and there were too many people coming and going, I opted for trying them on at home. I disappoint myself sometimes with that…
So as mentioned I picked up 3 new pairs:

1. Jessica Simpson – Black suede round toe pumps

2. Franco Sarto – Brown suede, pleated vamp Peep toes

3. Enzo Angiolini – Black Comb peep toe pumps

Surprisingly the Jessica’s were a little tighter than other round toe Jessica’s I have. I am thinking they will work out fine. The Enzo’s fit pretty well. I like the way they feel and they look loud, but not too loud. Not sure how I will get away with wearing these out, I figure if I get up the nerve to wear some of my white jeans or Capri’s, they might work well with them. The Franco’s I am up in the air about. They are a little tight, and that is not always an issue, but I feel the narrow feel in the toe box may create some discomfort in the edge of the peep toe. The reason I am up in the air about them is they were 80% off. Got them for about nothing!!! So I am thinking these will get used in the house to see if I can make them stretch out a bit to advance their comfort.

I will tell you about one other purchase I made a couple days ago. I found a pair of Black Coach logo sneakers in my size. This is not a find I come across often. Usually the size 11 is gone when they hit the shelf. So, as any shoe person would do, I got them!!! I will be wearing these to a job site next week. I am excited.

I am grateful for all the visitors I have had. I would appreciate some feedback from all of you. Suggestions on content would also be great.

So let’s try some questions. Please answer at least one of them.
1. I have seen many videos on “How to walk in high heels”. All of them are done by women. Would you be interested in my opinion or tips on how to walk in heels?
2. If you were to see a guy out in public wearing heels, would you approach him and complement him on his shoes? (This is assuming you like his footwear.)

Thank you all!!!

  1. Hello, great blog. And my answers are the same! Yes to both questions. I’ve seen a lot of folk struggle with high heels, and if anyone looked great, I would tell them, no matter if they were male or female.

  2. Hey! Thanks for commenting! πŸ™‚
    To answer your questions;
    1. Personally IΒ΄ve been walking in heels since I was 5, so I prob wouldnΒ΄t consider myself to have the need to watch that kind of video. πŸ˜‰ But I`m sure a lot of other people would be interested. If you make one I might publish it on my blog to help spread the word. πŸ™‚
    2. I love complimenting people on what theyΒ΄re wearing, but the scandinavian part of me is a bit shy for approaching strangers on the street. πŸ™‚

I like your blog by the way, will come back again!

  3. Answers to questions:

    1) Yes!
    2) I’m also shy, but perhaps if I had a few drinks in me, I’d approach and compliment you!

For content, I’d like some thoughts and commentary on how your choice to wear heels interacts with gender identity norms, social perceptions, sexual identity, and your thoughts on why people wear what we wear!

Thanks for bringing your perspective to the world! Keep it up!

    • Alison,
Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your suggestions. I will work on them and post them. I have so many ideas; it helps to get input on what others interests might be. I also want to thank you for the encouragement. Perhaps someday we can get a couple drinks in yea and you will get those compliments flying! Come back often! πŸ˜‰

    • I have found Jessica Simpson’s line to be pretty good. I have a couple pairs of round toe pumps and they are a good fit. The last ones I purchased (listed here) are slightly snugger than the others I have (Pictured on my pictures link, denim material). I also have some wedges (in the background of my blog) and these are fantastic. If you are a size 11, I would say they are going to be very good for you. I would fit a 11.5 better or even a 12, but my foot is not what is in mind for these shoes. πŸ˜‰ I say get a pair. Go universal or way over the top; either way I think you will be happy. Thank you for stopping by and please visit often. πŸ˜‰

  4. Great blog as i livee for heels!!! I started wearing them since high skool and never looked back, lol

    Regarding your questions:

    1. Yes, i think it would be a great idea and in fact, i never knew ppl did such videos:)

    2. Hm….as i live in Asia, i think ppl would think im a psycho if i went up to them and complimented their shoes, so i would say no=) But in Europe it might be another story for me, hehe

And thx for commenting on my blog!

  5. Those black heels are such a perfect everyday heel – I love them! Thanks for stopping by my blog too. Welcome to the blogging world =)

  6. 1. Yes!
    2. I always tell someone when I like their clothes because I know it always makes my day when someone tellls me so. So, of course I would tell him that I like his shoes! Fashion for all!

    • They are real nice heels. Closed toes do stop all of those issues you are referring too. I personally would choose open toes over pumps most of the time, as I like to see nice feet and I like to show mine off.
Thank you for stopping by and please continue to do so.

    • These are nice looking heels. It took me a few minutes to decide to get them. Well, not all that long. I was debating if I would wear them and if they would be just a little too much in the attention department. I am a bit shy. πŸ˜‰

    • Simi,
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I hope you do so often. I appreciate the wonderful words. This is of coarse assuming what you are meaning by “so wow” is that you are impressed and like it. πŸ˜‰ I look to see you back soon.

    • Thank you for stopping by and passing on the kind words. I yet to have someone come up to me in public and tell me they like my shoes… It is surprising on how many people do not notice.
Please come back and visit often. I have some new purchases to post about soon. πŸ˜‰

  7. Thank you so much for commenting! I like all three pairs, but the black simple pair is my favourite! To answer the questions:
    1. Yes!
    2. For sure! It’s not often I get to see men in nice footwear around here. But if I see someone wearing something fabulous, I often comment! I still remember one guy who was wearing the most gorgeous yellow metallic Lanvin shoes πŸ™‚

    • It is a pleasure to have visited your blog and commented. I equally appreciate you stopping by my humble blog. Thank you for the very kind words. Someday I will get a compliment and I am going to be very happy to get it. Please stop by again.

  8. Awesome shoes! Wear them while you can. One day you wake up with bunions and life as you know it is over! I love stylish shoes so despite the fact that I am shy, if I saw you with any of these on, I couldn’t control myself. I would bubble all over about your wonderful sense of fashion! Keep the pictures coming so I can dream.

    • Thank you for stopping by. On the bunions, the research I have done this condition is a genetic issue more than the footwear one uses. That being said, I do take great care of my feet and give them a break when needed.
I am glad to hear you would approach me and compliment me on my choice of shoes. I understand shy, I am at the root of it.
I will certainly keep bring you some pictures for your needs πŸ˜‰
Please continue to stop by and often. I appreciate your support and kind words!!! πŸ˜‰

  9. Beautiful shoes! My favorite has to be the Jessica Simpson pumps. They look very similar to the Colin Stuart pumps I own. Again great shoes!!! πŸ™‚
